Construction Attorney

Note: This position allows for a hybrid work schedule, with three days in the office at one of our client’s locations in Syracuse, Rochester, or Binghamton, NY and two days remote.

**Relocation to a commutable distance from one of the offices is required.**

Job Description

  • Provide legal counsel to school districts and BOCES on capital construction projects
  • Negotiate and draft contracts with architects and construction managers
  • Support clients in preparing bid documents, awarding contracts, and finalizing projects
  • Offer legal guidance throughout the construction administration process
  • Resolve any disputes arising from public construction projects

Qualifications

  • Must be a licensed attorney in New York
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction law
  • Familiarity with AIA Contract Documents
  • Strong legal research and writing skills
  • Excellent communication and advocacy abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
