Chief Radiation Therapist

Job Description:
- Perform radiation therapy job functions as well as assigned administrative duties by the department director
- Review, write, and update radiation policy and procedures
- Educate staff on policy and procedures and ODH requirements
- Review Ohio Department of Health (ODH) Administrative Code requirements and assist department director in meeting them
- Monitor and assure completion of all equipment quality checks and log them, ensuring all equipment is in safe and satisfactory working condition
- Monitor and assure completion of preventative maintenance and repairs
- Chair and document radiation therapy Quality Assurance and Improvement meetings
- Assist with developing QA/QI plans, acting as a resource for staff and assisting director in meeting Commission on Cancer (CoC) standards
- Assist with coordinating patient care based on patient needs
- Assist in the selection, training, and orientation of radiation therapy personnel
- Assist director with staff competencies and evaluations
- Understand and stay up-to-date on radiation oncology billing procedures, assisting director with edits/audits
- Assist physicist with quality and safety requirements, as well as with the implementation and continuous use of electronic medical record
- Have a complete understanding of the therapy equipment, including but not limited to:
- The VARIAN linear accelerator and patient protection devices
- Hardware and software for all patient information systems (HIS, PACS, RIS, IMPAC, etc)
- CT Simulation Unit
- Portal Vision
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an approved Radiation Therapy Training Program
- Current license from the ARRT specific to Radiation Therapy - ARRT (T)
- Maintain a valid Radiation Therapist license from the Ohio Department of Health
- 3-5 years of radiation therapy experience is required with specific training in simulation and planning; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
- Current American Heart Association Heathcare Provider (BLS) certification required
