Job Description:
- Perform radiation therapy procedures and fulfill administrative duties assigned by the department director.
- Update and maintain radiation policy and procedures.
- Provide education to staff on policy, procedures, and requirements set by the Ohio Department of Health (ODH).
- Ensure compliance with ODH Administrative Code requirements and assist the department director in meeting those standards.
- Monitor and ensure completion of equipment quality checks and maintenance.
- Chair and document radiation therapy Quality Assurance and Improvement meetings.
- Assist in the development and implementation of QA/QI plans.
- Coordinate patient care based on individual needs.
- Participate in the selection, training, and orientation of radiation therapy personnel.
- Assist the director with staff competencies and evaluations.
- Stay updated on radiation oncology billing procedures and assist the director with audits and edits.
- Support physicists in meeting quality and safety requirements.
- Ensure the implementation and effective use of electronic medical records.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of various therapy equipment, including the VARIAN linear accelerator, patient protection devices, and patient information systems.
- Collaborate with the CT Simulation Unit and Portal Vision teams.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an approved Radiation Therapy Training Program.
- Current ARRT (T) license specific to Radiation Therapy.
- Valid Radiation Therapist license from the Ohio Department of Health.
- 3-5 years of experience in radiation therapy with training in simulation and planning; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider (BLS) certification required.
