Job Description

  • Create precise and competitive cost estimates for various commercial electrical construction projects.
  • Analyze and evaluate project plans, drawings, and specifications to accurately determine the scope and pricing.
  • Devise strategies to optimize project bids through effective quantity takeoffs and pricing techniques.
  • Solicit pricing information from subcontractors and vendors to ensure cost-effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to refine estimates.
  • Guide and support junior estimators by providing valuable training and mentorship.
  • Participate in discussions regarding design-assist and value engineering.
  • Ensure precise completion of proposals within designated deadlines.
  • Visit project sites when necessary to gain firsthand understanding of the project requirements.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in estimating or construction engineering/construction management is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated expertise in reading and interpreting construction plans and specifications.
  • Experience in the field of electrical construction is an added advantage.
  • Proficiency in software applications such as Excel, Word, BlueBeam, Accubid, AutoCAD, and PowerPoint.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred. Alternatively, 5+ years of electrical construction experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as harmoniously within a team.
