Job Description

  • Create accurate and competitive cost estimates for various electrical construction projects.
  • Analyze and evaluate project plans, specifications, and drawings to determine scope and pricing.
  • Devise pricing strategies and generate quantity takeoffs to optimize project bids.
  • Solicit pricing from subcontractors and vendors to ensure cost-effective solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to refine estimates.
  • Mentor and guide junior estimators, providing necessary training and support.
  • Participate actively in design-assist and value engineering discussions.
  • Ensure precise completion of proposals while meeting set deadlines.
  • Visit project sites when required to gain firsthand insights into project requirements.

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in construction management, estimating, or construction engineering is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in interpreting and comprehending construction plans and specifications.
  • Knowledge of electrical construction is a valuable asset.
  • Proficiency in software applications including Excel, Word, BlueBeam, Accubid, AutoCAD, and PowerPoint.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field. In the absence of a degree, 5+ years of electrical construction experience will be considered.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
