Job Description

  • Perform computed tomography (CT) scans using specialized computerized x-ray equipment to produce cross-sectional images of the human anatomy.
  • Assist physicians and Radiologists in performing examinations by administering/providing contrast media and assisting with procedures as needed.
  • Identify patients, greet and address them, verify patient identity, explain the examination procedure, position patients for the exam, and perform procedures following established protocols.
  • Operate CT equipment appropriately and maintain proper radiation protection and precautions.
  • Report any unusual concerns, situations, or conditions to the Modality Lead, Imaging Medical Director, or direct report.
  • Assist with daily stocking and cleaning of rooms and ensure an adequate inventory of supplies.
  • Perform clerical and image management tasks, including working up patients, completing necessary paperwork, and properly identifying exams for PACS storage and review.
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance studies.
  • Assist the supervising radiologist with administrative functions.
  • Enforce radiation safety principles.

Qualifications

  • Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) in the state and registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) required.
  • Certification to perform Mammography or willingness to obtain within 12 months of hire.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • One year of previous experience preferred.
