What They're Looking For:
- Registered pharmacist licensed in the state of Kansas
- Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy
- PharmD degree
- At least 2 years of pharmacy management/leadership experience
Hours and Compensation Potential:
- Full-time position
- Salary range: $127,000 - $200,000 (dependent on experience)
- Full benefit package offered
- Possible relocation/sign-on bonus
Job Description:
As the Pharmacy Director, you will be responsible for:
- Directing and coordinating activities and functions of the hospital pharmacy
- Planning and implementing procedures according to hospital policies and legal requirements
- Reviewing and analyzing records to report prescribing trends and excessive usage to the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee
- Preparing pharmacy budget and department reports for hospital administrators
- Advising and informing hospital physicians and mid-levels of drug applications and characteristics during medical staff meetings
- Ensuring safe, legal, and ethical practices through quality assurance techniques
- Organizing daily activities and staffing needs, ensuring timely completion of assignments and attendance at required meetings
- Providing necessary skills and equipment to ensure appropriate pharmaceutical care
- Coordinating rounds to check Pyxis units, reconciling narcotic documentation, and clarifying medication administration records
- Promptly, accurately, and courteously responding to requests from physicians, nurses, and patients
- Utilizing CPOE for physician orders
- Supervising medication area refills, Pyxis med-stations, and maintaining controlled substance security and control
- Managing pharmaceutical and supply orders, maintaining proper inventory control
- Assisting in the maintenance of the 340B drug program
- Reviewing and revising department policies and procedures
- Coordinating clinical pharmacy services, including drug information requests, drug therapy monitoring, and patient education
- Maintaining necessary licenses and permits
- Managing drug recalls and outdated medication control processes
Qualifications:
- Registered pharmacist licensed in the state of Kansas
- Graduate of an accredited school of pharmacy
- PharmD degree
- At least 2 years of pharmacy management/leadership experience
- Possesses personal attributes such as professionalism, promptness, accuracy, courtesy, collaboration, respect, attention to detail, and teamwork
