Field Engineer – Civil Construction

Note: This position requires employees to be on-site five days a week at various job sites throughout Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana.

Job Description:

  • Serve as the on-site Field Engineer for heavy highway and civil construction projects
  • Collaborate daily with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Crews
  • Coordinate materials and ensure all certifications meet contract specifications
  • Track project progress, maintain reports, and document site activity
  • Oversee subcontractor performance and timelines
  • Manage concrete deliveries and pours
  • Assist with project close-out and reporting
  • Work in a variety of outdoor environments and occasionally second shift
  • Travel to job sites within a 1-hour radius of Chicagoland or Northwest Indiana
  • Report directly to the job site each day
  • Company vehicle provided

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of experience in the construction industry
  • Must hold a degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering
  • Valid driver's license
  • Prior experience working for a contractor is preferred
  • Strong background in heavy highway construction
  • OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus
  • Local to the Chicagoland or NW Indiana area (within 1 hour of job sites)
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ability to learn construction software
