Job Description
- Educate patients and their families on the nature of the diagnostic imaging procedures, potential risks, and expected outcomes.
- Assess patients' medical history, vital signs, and specific needs, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the imaging process.
- Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and other healthcare team members to support diagnostic imaging procedures.
- Ensure all equipment and instruments are properly sterilized, calibrated, and ready for use.
- Monitor patients' response to procedures, providing immediate care or intervention in case of any complications.
- Order and administer medications or contrast agents as required, monitoring patients for any adverse reactions.
- Participate in conscious and/or moderate sedation, as well as patient monitoring during cardiac stress tests.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records.
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
- Create and update patient care policies, flowsheets, and protocols.
- Make recommendations to referring physicians and patients' families under the guidance of the interventional radiologist.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Washington.
- Hold current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
- Possess previous nursing experience in an acute care setting, including competency in conscious/moderate sedation and patient monitoring and interpretation.
- Demonstrate strong clinical assessment skills, attention to detail, and proficiency at IV access.
- Show knowledge of diagnostic imaging procedures and patient care in the diagnostic setting.
