Job Description

  • Educate patients and their families on the nature of the diagnostic imaging procedures, potential risks, and expected outcomes.
  • Assess patients' medical history, vital signs, and specific needs, ensuring their comfort and well-being throughout the imaging process.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and other healthcare team members to support diagnostic imaging procedures.
  • Ensure all equipment and instruments are properly sterilized, calibrated, and ready for use.
  • Monitor patients' response to procedures, providing immediate care or intervention in case of any complications.
  • Order and administer medications or contrast agents as required, monitoring patients for any adverse reactions.
  • Participate in conscious and/or moderate sedation, as well as patient monitoring during cardiac stress tests.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records.
  • Adhere to strict infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Create and update patient care policies, flowsheets, and protocols.
  • Make recommendations to referring physicians and patients' families under the guidance of the interventional radiologist.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Washington.
  • Hold current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification.
  • Possess previous nursing experience in an acute care setting, including competency in conscious/moderate sedation and patient monitoring and interpretation.
  • Demonstrate strong clinical assessment skills, attention to detail, and proficiency at IV access.
  • Show knowledge of diagnostic imaging procedures and patient care in the diagnostic setting.
