JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Provide diagnostic evaluations and treatment to assigned patients.
- Help patients reach maximum performance level and function in the community within the limits of their capabilities.
- Administer comprehensive evaluations and document assigned patients in accordance with departmental standards and procedures.
- Provide consultation in areas such as environmental design and adaptive equipment.
- Maintain timely and accurate patient records and reports.
- Design and administer treatment programs to increase patients' levels of functioning.
- Instruct patients in adapted techniques and the use of adaptive equipment for daily living skills.
- Train patients in the use of upper-extremity prosthetic devices.
- Administer therapy for neurological integration and provide individualized therapy for adult learning-disabled patients.
- Design and fabricate splints, slings, and adaptive equipment as specified by doctors' prescriptions.
- Administer treatment programs to traumatic brain-injured patients.
- Provide prevention therapy to maintain functional skills and instruct patients and families in personal care.
- Assess patients' organizational skills, attention spans, cognitive abilities, and adaptive-equipment needs.
- Design home programs and instruct patients or families in carrying out such programs.
- Participate in patient support groups with other team members.
- Provide evaluations and develop a plan of care.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy required.
- Current registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association required.
- Must be licensed within the State of Montana.
