JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Provide diagnostic evaluations and treatment to assigned patients.
  • Help patients reach maximum performance level and function in the community within the limits of their capabilities.
  • Administer comprehensive evaluations and document assigned patients in accordance with departmental standards and procedures.
  • Provide consultation in areas such as environmental design and adaptive equipment.
  • Maintain timely and accurate patient records and reports.
  • Design and administer treatment programs to increase patients' levels of functioning.
  • Instruct patients in adapted techniques and the use of adaptive equipment for daily living skills.
  • Train patients in the use of upper-extremity prosthetic devices.
  • Administer therapy for neurological integration and provide individualized therapy for adult learning-disabled patients.
  • Design and fabricate splints, slings, and adaptive equipment as specified by doctors' prescriptions.
  • Administer treatment programs to traumatic brain-injured patients.
  • Provide prevention therapy to maintain functional skills and instruct patients and families in personal care.
  • Assess patients' organizational skills, attention spans, cognitive abilities, and adaptive-equipment needs.
  • Design home programs and instruct patients or families in carrying out such programs.
  • Participate in patient support groups with other team members.
  • Provide evaluations and develop a plan of care.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy required.
  • Current registration with the American Occupational Therapy Association required.
  • Must be licensed within the State of Montana.
