Title: Real Estate Transactions Attorney – Finished Lot Land Development/Homebuilding/Landbanking

Note: This position requires a hybrid work arrangement at our Scottsdale, AZ office.

Note: Bar admission to any state is acceptable for this position, with a preference for AZ.

Our client is a specialized law firm that focuses on transactional real estate, particularly in land acquisition, sales, and development, primarily catering to homebuilders. They have an extensive portfolio spanning across more than 25 states, with a strong presence in Arizona. Their expertise lies in handling significant land banking and lot servicing deals, as well as real estate financing and representation of master planned community developers in Arizona.

Job Description

  • Conduct due diligence, review titles, draft documents, and facilitate closings for national land banking transactions on behalf of land bankers funding public and private homebuilders.
  • Negotiate and draft real estate contracts such as purchase and sale agreements, land development agreements, and financing arrangements.
  • Collaborate with capital sources, developers, and landowners on various real estate projects.
  • Manage and attend closings for transactional real estate matters related to land banking, acquisition, and sales.
  • Assist in loan transactions for secured lender clients, particularly in fast hard money lending.
  • Ensure compliance with regional real estate laws by coordinating with local counsel in multiple states.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in transactional real estate law, with a focus on land transactions involving homebuilders and the sale of finished lots.
  • Preferred experience in landbanking transactions or sale of finished lots. Commercial leasing or development experience is not essential.
  • Knowledge of homebuilder transactional dealings, including the acquisition and sale of finished lots.
  • Admission to the bar in any state is acceptable, but candidates licensed in AZ or with experience in primary operating states (AZ, CA, FL, TX, NV, WA, the Carolinas, and GA) will be given preference.
  • Ability to work full-time at our Scottsdale, AZ office.
