Currently, they are seeking a Lead Estimator to join their team. Job Description: - Conduct a thorough analysis of project plans, specifications, and contracts to create accurate cost estimates for significant heavy civil projects. - Prepare and submit comprehensive and detailed bids for various public agencies, including NYC DDC, DEP, DOT, SCA, Parks, and Sanitation departments. - Take the lead in assembling bid books, forms, and proposals, ensuring they are completed in a timely and comprehensive manner. - Collaborate closely with project teams to develop effective means, methods, and production plans for efficient project delivery. - Oversee and manage the estimation process for projects exceeding $20,000,000. - Utilize software tools like Excel, Adobe PDF, and Bluebeam to organize and create estimates. - Stay updated on market trends and pricing to ensure accurate and competitive bidding. Qualifications: - Minimum of 10 years of experience as an estimator in the competitive NYC heavy civil market. - Proven track record of successfully bidding on and securing projects valued over $20,000,000. - At least 5 years of direct experience in bidding for public agencies within NYC. - Minimum of 3 years of experience as the lead estimator, accountable for completing and submitting bids. - Proficiency in software tools like Excel, Adobe PDF, and Bluebeam. - Previous experience working exclusively for contractors; conceptual estimating background will not be considered. - Strong knowledge of heavy civil construction practices and production methods. - Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience with each previous employer. - Located within a 90-120-minute radius of Staten Island, NY.
