Senior Mechanical Engineer

Job Description

  • Lead the design and documentation of mechanical systems for healthcare facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, and medical gas systems.
  • Oversee projects from conceptualization to construction administration.
  • Ensure adherence to engineering codes, standards, and best practices.
  • Create construction documents for new buildings, renovations, and additions.
  • Conduct site visits, review shop drawings, and address construction-related inquiries.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement improvements.
  • Guide and mentor junior designers while contributing to quality assurance efforts.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering (ABET-accredited).
  • At least 8 years of experience in mechanical system design, preferably in healthcare projects.
  • Thorough understanding of mechanical, energy, and healthcare-specific codes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Trane Trace, and Revit.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license preferred; Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification required.
  • Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must possess permanent work authorization without sponsorship requirements.
