Stormwater Engineer (Technical Lead)

Note: This position requires employees to be on-site five days a week at the XYZ office.

Job Description

  • Take the lead on stormwater engineering projects, ensuring the delivery of designs with exceptional quality and technical oversight.
  • Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for floodplains, culverts, and bridges.
  • Create stormwater management solutions for municipal and roadway projects, contributing to their design and development.
  • Utilize tools like HEC-RAS and SWMM for modeling and analysis purposes.
  • Supervise drainage and flood reduction projects, including the implementation of erosion and sediment control measures.
  • Mentor and manage a team of junior engineers, reviewing their project work and ensuring technical accuracy.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and establish strong relationships with clients.

Qualifications

  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Have a minimum of 8 years of experience in stormwater engineering and water resources management.
  • Possess a valid Professional Engineer (PE) license in Illinois and/or Indiana.
  • Demonstrate a strong background in hydrology, hydraulics, and stormwater design.
  • Proficient in utilizing HEC-RAS, SWMM, and other modeling tools.
  • Familiarity with roadway drainage, flood mitigation, and erosion control practices.
  • Exhibit excellent project management and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge or certification as a Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM) is a plus.
