About Our Client
Our client is a reputable law firm specializing in workers' compensation defense. They are seeking experienced attorneys to join their team either as Senior or Associate Attorneys.
Job Description
- Handle the legal defense of workers' compensation cases from start to finish, including discovery and litigation
- Collaborate closely with insurance companies, employers, and third-party administrators
- Plead on behalf of insurance carriers, 3rd party administrators, and self-insured employers
- Manage correspondence with clients and draft necessary legal documents
- Negotiate settlements for workers' compensation files
- Appear in court, manage the calendar, and conduct depositions and cross-examinations of medical professionals
- Handle lien claims and ensure proactive case management
- Mentor and supervise legal assistants to provide effective case support
- Establish and maintain relationships with clients, colleagues, and vendors
- Participate in marketing events with new and existing clients
- Review and work on files, input case information, and manage billing software
- Meet deadlines for client correspondence and attend file reviews
- Conduct training seminars for clients on changes in workers' compensation case law
- Stay updated on current knowledge of workers' compensation case law
Qualifications
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in workers' compensation law (either plaintiff or defense side)
- Residency in California and possession of a CA Bar license
