Workers’ Compensation Attorney
Note: This position requires employees to be on-site five days a week at the XYZ office.
Our client, a leading law firm specializing in Workers’ Compensation defense, is currently seeking experienced Senior and Associate Attorneys for a remote position in San Diego, CA. Salary is based on experience.
Residency in California and possession of a CA Bar license are required.
The attorneys will be responsible for managing the legal defense of workers' compensation cases from start to finish, including all aspects of discovery and litigation. They will work closely with insurance companies, employers, and third-party administrators.
Job Description:
- Advocate on behalf of insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and self-insured employers
- Prepare and handle all client correspondence
- Compose legal pleadings and negotiate settlements for workers' compensation cases
- Attend court appearances, manage calendar, and conduct doctor depositions and cross-examinations
- Negotiate lien claims and provide proactive case management
- Oversee and mentor a legal assistant, ensuring effective case support
- Establish and maintain relationships with clients, co-workers, and vendors
- Participate in marketing events with both new and existing clients
- Review and manage case files, inputting information into PracticeMaster and billing software
- Meet deadlines for client correspondence and attend file reviews
- Conduct training seminars for clients on updates in workers' compensation case law
- Stay current with the latest developments in workers' compensation case law
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 4 years of recent experience in workers' compensation law
- Active California Bar license
