About Our Client

Our client is a reputable law firm specializing in Workers' Compensation defense cases. They are currently seeking experienced Senior and Associate Attorneys to join their team. This is a full-time position located in Oakland, CA.

Job Description

• Handle the legal defense of workers' compensation cases, from start to finish, including all aspects of discovery and litigation.
• Collaborate closely with insurance companies, employers, and third-party administrators.
• Advocate on behalf of insurance carriers, third-party administrators, and self-insured employers.
• Prepare and manage correspondence to clients.
• Draft pleadings and negotiate settlements for workers' compensation files.
• Attend court appearances, manage calendar, and conduct depositions and cross-examinations of medical professionals.
• Negotiate lien claims and proactively manage cases.
• Mentor and supervise legal assistants to ensure effective case support.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, colleagues, and vendors.
• Participate in marketing events to attract both new and existing clients.
• Review and work on files, inputting case information into relevant software.
• Meet deadlines for client correspondence and attend client file reviews.
• Conduct training seminars for clients on evolving workers' compensation case law.
• Stay updated on current knowledge of workers' compensation case law.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 4 years of recent experience in workers' compensation law.
• Must be licensed to practice law in the state of California (CA Bar).
